Eighth St., the board\u2019s first regular get-together since last month. Among the agenda items to watch:<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>*Trustees will announce the appointment of a new PCCD chancellor, set to take over July 1 from interim chief Wise Allen. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.insidebayarea.com\/education\/ci_20446349\/peralta-college-district-wooing-santa-maria-college-president?IADID=Search-www.insidebayarea.com-www.insidebayarea.com\" target=\"_blank\">The board\u2019s pick<\/a> will climb behind the big desk shortly after the ACCJC issues its latest verdict on the district, and\u2014Peralta supporters hope\u2014in time to celebrate passage of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.insidebayarea.com\/oakland-tribune\/ci_20436377\/oakland-tribune-editorial-three-school-districts-make-reasonable\" target=\"_blank\">Measure B<\/a>. Trustees will also announce CoA\u2019s new VPI tonight.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>*Tentative agreements overwhelmingly ratified by PFT and SEIU go before the board for final approval. The three-year deals take effect July 1 and include changes to employee healthcare. The district will hold mandatory re-enrollment for all contract employees throughout May. Look for announcements from the PCCD Benefits Office in the days ahead.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>*Trustees will hold a study session on proposed board policies adapted from Community College League templates, part of a process set in motion by an ACCJC recommendation. Among the policies PFT is keeping an eye on are 4030 (Academic Freedom) and 7700 (Whistleblower Protection). The board won\u2019t take action on the items until a future meeting.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>*Trustees will weigh approval of up to $424K in general fund monies for several independent contractors: CPA Christopher Akhidenor (up to $15K), board policy facilitator Jim Grivich (up to $60K), IT firm eVerge (up to $99K), and fiscal advisor EdMAC (up to $250K).<\/div>\n<div>In other news:<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>*PFT and the Peralta Retiree Organization (PRO) will hold their final retirement workshop of the year, Wed., May 2, 12-1:30 p.m., in Room E 200 at Laney.
