Dear Peralta Community,
Prep for 2011’s final board meeting with the e-Communiqué, the PFT skinny on the latest trustee and district action. Email items you’d like to see in this space to PFT Communications Director Debby Weintraub at dweintraub@peralta.edu.
*The Peralta Board of Trustees meets tonight at 7 at 333 E. Eighth St. The election of new board leadership tops the agenda, with President Bill Riley and VP Cy Gulassa ending their terms. Also on tap: board member self-evaluations, a public hearing on trustee-area redistricting, and a slew of new board policies.
*Learn how to move your money from the big banks to community-based banks and credit unions, as No Cuts Laney presents Bank Divestment Day, Wed., Dec. 7, 12-1:30 p.m., on the Laney Quad.
*Don’t miss PFT’s annual holiday party, Thurs., Dec. 15, 4-6 p.m., at the PFT offices (500 E. 8th St., Ste. B, Oakland). We’ll have beer, wine, cold cuts, sweets, raffle prizes, gifts for kids, and lots of good company. Bring the whole family! RSVP to union@pft1603.org or 510.763.8820.
*Check your mailbox next week for the fall edition of the Peralta Teacher. The hardcopy union newsletter will feature a detailed negotiations update, an end-of-term checklist, a part-timer report, and much more.
In solidarity,
Matthew M. Goldstein, President
Debby Weintraub, Communications Director
