The Peralta Community College District Board of Trustees returns to action tonight at seven in the boardroom at 333 E. Eighth St. Agenda items worth watching include votes on Local 39’s tentative contract agreement and a half-dozen Measure A expenditures.

In other news:

*PFT will hold discussions on its tentative contract agreement (TA) today, Tues., Oct. 8, 12-1 p.m., in Room A 200 at CoA, and Wed., Oct. 9, 12:15-1:15 p.m., in Room 311 at BCC. Faculty are encouraged to learn about the deal and then vote on it on Th., Oct. 10, 3-5 p.m., in Room D 200 at Laney. A précis on the TA went into campus mailboxes last week; links to PDFs of both the full text and a summary appear on the homepage of the PFT website. PFT and district negotiators inked the deal Oct. 3. The agreement will become official if ratified by the PFT membership Oct. 10 and approved by the PCCD BoT at its Oct. 22 meeting. Negotiated salary increases would appear in November paychecks.

*The PFT executive council has developed assignment guidelines to help department chairs and program directors work with college administrators to follow the contract in scheduling faculty. The guidelines distill contract language to provide a primer on how to prioritize and distribute various types of faculty assignment.
